Gulfstream Business-Jet Manufacturing Facility (Bldg Y)

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, awarded BE&K Building Group a design-build contract for a new business jet manufacturing facility at Gulfstream’s manufacturing complex, located adjacent to the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport. BE&K Building Group’s design partner is BRPH.

Designated “Building Y,” the facility houses the production and assembly areas comprising 330,000 square feet, with eight overhead cranes; and training facilities and office space consisting of two, three-story office towers. BE&K Building Group’s scope of work includes a connected central energy plant, and a separate industrial waste processing facility.

Building Y represents Gulfstream’s second major manufacturing addition since Gulfstream brought its G200 aircraft production to Savannah in 1967. In 2008, BE&K Building Group, with BRPH as architect of record, completed Gulfstream’s Building X, the company’s G650 business jet manufacturing facility. Building Y is sited on a new campus near Building X.
