Strategic Alliances

Our Approach

Strategic Alliances

Pernix Group believes that strategic alliances are a better way to expand our depth and augment our resources without significantly increasing costs and overheads. This approach has proven effective in providing our clients with the essential synergies that produce greater efficiencies, lowered costs and increased value.

One key strategic partner has been Sayed Hamid Behbehani & Sons (SHBC). SHBC is a premier, fully integrated general contractor based in Kuwait. SHBC and its group of companies employ more than 5,000 professionals and are owned by one of the most prominent merchant families in Kuwait. SHBC brings a wealth of resources to Pernix and continues to support our projects with both manpower and investment when required. Our Joint Venture with SHBC was awarded the project to build a new US Embassy in Suva, Fiji in 2007. The SHBC Family of Companies includes Al Ahleia Switchgear Co, a leading manufacturer of switchgear, transformers and packaged substations, as well as a mechanical division that specializes in hydraulics, hard chroming and steel fabrication.

Additional Pernix partners include Universal Holdings, LLC, Kaseman of Michael Baker International, Serka Insaat Ve Ticaret A.S., as well as other complimentary strategic alliances.

Universal Holdings, LLC, a Texas based management and services company that specializes in the energy market. We have combined our resources with Universal’s into a Joint Venture to provide integrated project execution in both the traditional power and renewable/sustainable power markets; with core competencies in conceptual planning, project development, project execution, start-up, commissioning and operations and maintenance.

Pernix Kaseman Joint Venture recently pursued work with USACE Far East District and was awarded an $11.6 million dollar contract to construct a 4,600 square foot security facility communication center special area, including administrative offices. The work will be performed at USAG Humphreys in South Korea.

Pernix partnered with Serka Insaat Ve Ticaret A.S., a Turkish based construction company, and formed the Pernix-Serka Joint Venture (PS JV) which was awarded a multi-billion dollar Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract for design, construction, supply and/or installation of pre-fabricated and engineered containerized housing and office units with integrated building systems and complete site infrastructure through the use of units similar to these Denver steel storage containers. This IDIQ is earmarked for support of U.S. Diplomatic missions worldwide as well as U.S. global operations in support of contingency, humanitarian, and emergency relief. In 2011, PS JV was awarded a significant task order in Baghdad, Iraq, with a value of $92.6 million.

Pernix continues to pursue new partners around the world to expand our business, and our product and service offerings, while adding value to our customers’ projects.
