Nidal Z. Zayed
Chief Executive Officer & President

Mr. Zayed, President and Chief Executive Officer, is one of the founders and senior executives of the Pernix Group since its inception in 1996. He received his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1985 and a B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago in 1982. Nidal engaged for several years in private practice specializing in litigation and international business law. He has extensive experience with international transactions worldwide.

Over the years with Pernix Nidal had direct responsibility for contract administration/legal, banking, treasury, business development, and has raised significant equity and funding for the company. In 2005 Nidal accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer and President of the Pernix Group. Nidal now provides corporate leadership, guiding all present and future corporate activities with an uncompromising commitment to deliver excellence in all we do. He sits on the Board of Pernix Group and that of its subsidiaries, and is personally responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company and its holdings.

   
   
Greg Grosvenor
Chief Financial Officer & Vice President

Mr. Grosvenor has been Pernix Group’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since August 2004. Mr. Grosvenor is responsible for all SEC reporting, tax compliance, strategic financial planning and human resources at its corporate headquarters. He is also responsible for all financial operations including reporting and tax matters in the company’s international subsidiaries. Mr. Grosvenor has more than sixteen years of CFO experience with include both private and publicly traded companies. Mr. Grosvenor has worked with investment firms such as William Blair Capital to restructure and sell one of their portfolio companies. In addition, he completed debt restructuring and funding in the hundred of millions of dollars for the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority. He also worked at the parent holding company of Hyatt Corporation for six years where he was responsible for the reporting of multiple companies. He was a member of the team that spun off Galileo from United Airlines and worked at Anixter Bros. in various financial and accounting roles. He began his career working with the international audit firm of PriceWaterhouse Coopers. He obtained his CPA in Illinois and graduated from Loyola University in Chicago.

   
   
James M. Rice
Vice President, Construction

Mr. Rice, Vice President Construction, joined Pernix in 2007 to lead the construction efforts on the new U.S. Embassy Compound in Suva, Fiji. Following its successful completion, Jim returned to our headquarters to join our Senior Management Team and has overall responsibility for new work acquisition. Jim is a seasoned construction professional with over 15 years of domestic and international construction experience, including the execution of construction management at-risk, design-build, and fast-track projects. Jim has completed construction projects for private clients and public agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Navy, U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Defense having conducted construction operations in more than 25 countries.  Jim brings to our team a wealth of experience in managing and executing complex construction projects with unique procurement and logistical requirements. Jim is a graduate of the University of Maine and has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (1989) and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (1995).

   
   
Aren Fairchild
General Counsel

Mr. Fairchild is General Counsel for Pernix Group with responsibility for the legal affairs of the company. Before he joined the Pernix team in 2007, he was a partner at the Chicago law firm of Freeborn & Peters, LLP, where his practice was focused on representing domestic and international clients in complex commercial matters throughout the country. His expertise includes virtually all aspects of commercial contract law, as well as international trade and dispute resolution, shareholder disputes and securities law, government contracting, insurance, risk management, and corporate counseling. Mr. Fairchild is a member of the state bars of Illinois and Michigan as well as the bars of numerous federal courts. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and also has served on the boards of several not-for-profit civic organizations. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1995 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1992.

   
   

Ralph Beck
Chairman of the Board
Director since 1999

Mr. Beck is a principal of Global Construction Solutions, L.L.C. From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Beck served as the President of Kajima Construction Services, Inc., which is the U.S. general construction contracting division of The Kajima Corporation, a global design, engineering and construction company. From 1965 to 1994, Mr. Beck was with the Turner Corporation, a U.S. and International contracting and construction management firm. Mr. Beck served as the chairman of the board for Turner Steiner International from 1987 to 1994, and as a senior vice president for Turner Corporation.
